I've been a fan of Kat's work for a while after reading her book Dark several years ago, and this series sounded great when I first saw her post about it.
The story and the plot were wonderful. I really liked the main characters and all the side characters that were introduced throughout the story. I can't wait to read some of their stories later in the series.
Each character was well fleshed out with their own personalities which made it easy to know who was talking and when.
I loved the relationship progression between Asher and Gwyn.
The descriptions that Kat writes are wonderful, and how she can make characters that are both relatable and realistic with real flaws and developed backstories.
And you can't not mention Daisy! What a loveable and cheeky doggo who had a fondness for socks and trouble!
The mystery within the book was excellent and kept me guessing all the way through. A shocking twist in the tale that I did not see coming at all!
A fantastic beginning to a brand-new series that I can't wait to read more of.
