What a wonderful read! I've not seen or read another story using the 12 Days of Christmas Carol before and this was such a unique spin on both the Carol and the Ice Queen tale, with some appropriately named chapter headers.
The story was told in both Owain and the Ice Queen's - Gwyneira's POV allowing you an insight into both of their thoughts and reactions throughout the story, as well as showing a brief backstory for each character. Both were written beautifully.
The story was fast-paced but didn't feel quick or rushed. Each scene felt complete giving you just enough to want to keep reading and not put the book down.
The spice was high and done really well. Not too fast that it was over with before it seemed to begin, nor did it drag on and take away anything from the story.
A wonderfully written story that keeps you gripped throughout, perfect for a winter read!
